The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling confident about the future of the club due to the quality of the current first-team and the abundance of youth who are knocking on the door for a first-team call-up.

Pep Guardiola’s season has gone about as perfectly as he could ever have realistically wished for, and the indications from the season so far suggest his City slickers could be destined for a prolonged period of domination in the English top-flight. Of course, every season will pose a fresh challenge to City, and their opponents will eventually begin to expose their weaknesses and narrow the gulf in class at the top of the table.

But despite this, there is no doubt that they will continue to represent one of, if not the most devastating attacking force in English football – especially if Guardiola remains at the helm. The current crop of players are certainly capable of performing at the top of their game for years to come, but it appears City’s manager may finally live up to his reputation by promoting youth in the years to come.

The likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Brahim Diaz and Stockport-born Phil Foden have been exposed to the first-team this season across a variety of competitions. However, City also have plenty of young players playing their trade on loan across Europe in a bid to acquire competitive first-team experience.

One of those players is Manu Garcia, an attacking midfielder who is currently on loan at Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda. Garcia has failed to make a huge impression in the Dutch top-flight, but he scored a Messi-esque goal last night that will certainly boost his reputation in Manchester and catch the attention of his manager.

Garcia pinched the ball on the half-way line before embarking on a mazey run which saw him dance past the challenges of 4 players with elegance and agility, and he completed his slalom with a deftly placed finish with the outside of his right-boot.

In response to his breathtaking solo effort, the City fans lauded his strike on Twitter and compared him to one of the club’s most treasured legends of the past, namely Georgi Kinkladze.

Here’s what the Manchester City fans had to say about Manu Garcia’s goal for NAC Breda last night…
