Southampton supporters have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern in the last few hours after seeing their side go down 2-0 at home to Liverpool to slip back into the Premier League’s bottom three with just 11 games to go.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s men went into their clash with the Champions League chasing Reds off the back of beating West Brom 3-2 in their previous encounter, a result which moved them up to 14th place in the table. Yet results went against the Saints prior to their meeting with Jurgen Klopp’s side on Sunday, and they now occupy the final relegation place as goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah sealed a routine victory for the Merseyside giants, in turn moving them to within two points of second place Manchester United.

Subsequently, there have been many disappointed and frustrated Saints fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hugely concerned that their side’s six-season stay in the top-flight could be coming to an end this term.

With that in mind, the Saints fans online aren’t in any mood to deal with the club’s attempt at good news online! Southampton took to Twitter to reveal that their FA Cup clash with West Brom had sold out, though the fans on social media were all calling for the same thing.
