Tottenham fans have big message for Alderweireld after Newport win

Tottenham supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern in the last few hours after seeing their side book their place in the last 16 of the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-0 win over League Two outfit Newport County in a fourth round replay at Wembley on Wednesday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were fortunate to earn another chance at beating Michael Flynn’s side following a 1-1 draw at Rodney Parade last month, but went into Wednesday’s clash having beaten Manchester United and drawn with Liverpool in their previous Premier League outings. And Spurs were rarely in trouble at the national stadium on Wednesday as an own goal from Dan Butler as well as an Erik Lamela strike sealed a routine victory for the North London outfit, booking them a place in the fifth round where they will face Rochdale.

Thus, there have been many happy Tottenham fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hoping their team can continue their fine form when they host Arsenal in the North London derby on Saturday.
