The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see their club smash Huddersfield Town over the course of the weekend.
Indeed, with Harry Kane back in the goals, there’s a huge feeling of optimism amongst our local Lillywhites ahead of their imminent double-header with Real Madrid in the Champions League after the international break.
That was only added to following reports over the weekend from the Sun. They claim Danny Rose is in the frame to face Los Blancos in the Spanish capital on October 17th, after around 10 months out with a knee injury picked up against Sunderland in January.
The 27-year-old is understood to have stepped up his return from an injury and the punters propping up our bar are absolutely delighted about the news. While Ben Davies has impressed as a deputy in Rose’s absence, few would doubt just how good a player the England international proved to be in Mauricio Pochettino’s system.
Rose’s return will be a huge boost for Tottenham, though it’ll be interesting to see how he’s welcomed back. After his explosive interview over the course of the summer and the form of Ben Davies, it’s unlikely that he’ll simply stroll back into the side with no questions asked.
