Tottenham supporters have been making a lot of noise in the Transfer Tavern in recent weeks after seeing their team reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the second successive season courtesy of a 3-0 win over Swansea City in the last eight.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their meeting with the Swans back on March 17 having got past AFC Wimbledon, Newport County, and Rochdale in the previous rounds, although they needed replays to get past the latter two EFL outfits. However, they eased into the last four of the world’s oldest cup competition last time out as a brace from Christian Eriksen alongside Erik Lamela’s second goal of the campaign secured an easy victory for Pochettino’s side, in turn booking them a semi-final date with Manchester United at Wembley next month.
As such, there have been many buoyant Tottenham fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are sincerely hoping that their team can indeed end their decade-long wait for a trophy by going on to win the FA Cup this season.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Spurs supporters to get their teeth into, not least recent reports suggesting that their club have not been put off by the recent £25 million asking-price slapped on target James Maddison.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fine campaign at Championship side Norwich City with 14 goals and ten assists for the Canaries, form which has attracted the interest of several top Premier League clubs, including Pochettino’s Spurs.
And this news has stimulated quite a response from Spurs fans on Twitter, with many indeed wanting the club to go on and seal a deal for the England Under-21 ace…
