Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern weren’t happy with comments made by Massimiliano Allegri ahead of Spurs crucial round-of-16 second leg tie with Juventus at Wembley on Wednesday. Allegri claimed that Lazio, who fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Allegri on Saturday, are a different side to Spurs as they are better defensively.

Spurs fans will be looking forward to Wednesday nights Champions League round-of-16 tie against Juventus after securing an impressive 2-2 draw away at the Juventus stadium three weeks ago. Gonzalo Higuain seemed to put the game past Mauricio Pochettino’s side with two goals inside the opening 10 minutes in Turin. However, goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen shifted momentum in Tottenham’s favour for the second leg at Wembley.
Tottenham fans will be hoping they can add the Old Lady to a collection of impressive scalps which they’ve claimed at Wembley. The already impressive collection of sides beaten include Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Spurs will be motivated to get past Juventus and fire themselves into the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since the 2010/11 season, a year in which they bested an Italian side in AC Milan to reach the quarters.
Both sides go into the game in good form, as Spurs ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Huddersfield on Saturday whilst Juventus left it late to snatch all three points from Lazio with a 93rd-minute winner from Argentine, Paulo Dybala.
So, it’s bubbling up to be another classic and here’s what the Spurs fans made of Allegri’s comments:
I hope we smash them to bits now!!!

We're missing our best defensive player and we are still better than lazio in goals allowed by a pretty big margin too.
