Tottenham fans here with us at the Tavern are still trying to get over the fact that their beloved team are out of the Champions League once again, something that leaves a sour taste in their mouths.
A prominent issue Spurs have faced over the past few years is being able to replace Harry Kane when he is injured or generally unable to play. Fernando Llorente was brought in from Swansea in the summer and is utilised as a cup competition player, not someone who could really challenge Harry Kane to a starting spot.
A player who could prove the ideal fear for Kane though, is Ajax youngster Kasper Dolberg, who is valued at £12.60 million on Transfermarkt. The 20-year-old burst onto the scene for the Dutch club last season when being promoted from the U19 side, straight to the first team. The talented star bagged 23 goals in all competitions for the first team but the season before that, he only managed two goals for the youth team. His rise to stardom has been quick and dramatic as the Danish international helped Ajax to the Europa League final last year where they were beaten 2-0 by English giants Manchester United.
This season, Dolberg has continued his goalscoring in the Eredivisie with five goals in 18 appearances and eight goals in all competitions so far. The Ajax prodigy still has a lot to improve in his game but learning from England’s most prolific goalscorer at the moment, Harry Kane, would certainly help Dolberg learn the vital skills necessary to make it as a world-beating centre-forward.
The fans around the Tavern are hopeful Tottenham could show their intentions for the future as securing Kasper Dolberg could make Spurs a real force going forward.
