The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are pinching themselves this morning as they try to wrap their heads around the fact that their club is days away from appointing Marcelo Bielsa. A manager of the Argentine’s calibre very rarely takes a job in the Championship and it will mean the pressure will be on the Yorkshire club to go up. You can read the latest update on Bielsa in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Leeds fans propping our bar up will be hoping big things are around the corner with Bielsa in charge of the club. Reports coming out of the club have suggested that money has not been an issue in negotiations, but instead, Bielsa has had reservations over the way the club is run, although those issues seem to have been resolved now and the club will have the legendary ex-Argentina gaffer as their new man in the dugout.
The Whites will be hoping that they can mount a serious title challenge under Bielsa and if he can get the club back to the promised land of the Premier League he will go down as a hero in Leeds, as the man who ended their longest stay outside of the top-flight in their history. This season will be Leeds 15th straight year outside of English football’s top tier, and Bielsa will know that as he attempts to put the club back amongst the big boys.

We were the 33rd ‘best’ team in England last season and here we are seemingly about to land one of the best coaches in the world. Look at who’s been in charge for the last decade. Unbelievable if it happens.

Chuff me, at this rate his appointment will have taken longer than his tenure will last.

Bear in mind that not only better players signed but he will also improve what we currently have hopefully beyond recognition… gonna be one hell of a ride.

It’s official LUFC have been negotiating this deal longer than Heckingbottom, Hockaday and Milanic had the roles on a full time basis

The Leeds supporters in the Tavern are rightly getting impatient over the deal, as they want it wrapped up with Bielsa tied to a contract as soon as possible, given that they believe the Argentine is the one to get them back in the Premier League.
