Chelsea had a quiet window really in January all things considered, and despite the additions of Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud, manager Antonio Conte is still visibly unsatisfied by the outcome of the winter window.

Last night’s 3-0 home hammering against Bournemouth was another example of what is going wrong at the Bridge this term, and Conte will be furious with the display of his players, not to mention some of the Blues fans here in the Tavern already voicing theiranger at the result.

Our landlord has bee having a good old chat with the Blues fans today following the result, and there’s been some serious mulling over as to what the club should have done in January.

One player who we think has gone under the radar and should have been snapped up by Conte and co is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been delivering once again for the Italians in another impressive season.

The powerful and pacey centre back has been in excellent form for a number of years now, and at 26, is primed and ready for a move to the Premier League if the right offer comes along.

Chelsea need a central defender, with Gary Cahill ageing, and David Luiz out of the picture, the Blues simply had to add in that area, something they failed to do.

Koulibaly could and should have been the perfect signing for the Blues, but they did indeed miss out on him, and questions will now surely be asked – especially following the result against the Cherries.

Chelsea fans, what do you think to this? Let us know in the comments!
