Liverpool supporters have been making a lot of noise in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side get back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp’s men made the trip to the Vitality Stadium off the back of frustrating home draws against Everton and West Brom, but they proved their class on the South Coast last weekend with another attacking masterclass to ease past Eddie Howe’s side. Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino secured a comprehensive victory for the Merseyside giants, who took advantage of Tottenham’s heavy defeat at Manchester City a day earlier to move up to fourth place in the Premier League table.
Subsequently, there have been many delighted Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are eagerly anticipating the upcoming January transfer window, and thus what business their team could conduct to bolster their ranks ahead of 2018.
However, one man who could be leaving Anfield come the New Year is young forward Ben Woodburn, who is reportedly available for loan in January given his lack of first team action so far this season.
The 18-year-old has managed just one senior appearance for the Reds so far and doesn’t look like commanding regular football anytime soon, and as such Klopp is reportedly willing to sanction a loan move for the Wales international.
And news of Woodburn’s possible departure has stimulated quite a response from Liverpool fans on Twitter, many of whom aren’t overly convinced about the youngster’s long-term future were he to go out on loan…
Rush, Owen, Fowler – all young and none went on loan as far as I know. Afraid going out on loan usually means not good enough. Too, top players rarely get sent on loan, they are played in the first team. If he goes he won’t return.

A high flying championship club would be an excellent move for him. Has to be somewhere where the team are going to be creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities. #LFC

Genuine question: who was the last Liverpool player to go out on loan, have a successful loan spell and come back to be a success at Liverpool?
