# Queens Park Rangers: Fans think Joe Lumley could be dropped after West Brom performance

**Queens Park Rangers fans are calling for a change of goalkeeper as Joe Lumley came in for criticism from his own supporters in the wake of the Hoops’ defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday lunchtime.**

[Lumley](https://www.skysports.com/football/qpr-vs-w-brom/409453) was caught out for the Baggies’ opener as defender Nathan Ferguson wandered into the QPR half unopposed before his speculative effort went beneath the dive of the 24-year-old.

It seems it was a shot that the ‘keeper could have dealt better with, judging by the comments – and some fans feel that it may be about time for backup Liam Kelly to be granted a run of games between the sticks, with Lumley’s supposed error not his first of the season as Rangers fans bemoaned ‘another mistake’ from the shot-stopper.

He was arguably at fault previously during QPR’s win over [Luton Town](https://www.skysports.com/football/qpr-vs-luton/409429) a fortnight ago, when he gifted forward Harry Cornick a goal thanks to some poor distribution.

And as the Hoops’ four-game winning run in the [Championship](https://www.skysports.com/queens-park-rangers-results) came to an end, while there was some [sympathy](https://twitter.com/LouisMoir99/status/1178025459289919490) for Lumley, others felt he could be dropped for the midweek trip to Cardiff City:

> He has to start, Lumley’s time is up and imo it was up about 5 games ago [#QPR](https://twitter.com/hashtag/QPR?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/MFHYDgxblp](https://t.co/MFHYDgxblp)

> [@QPR](https://twitter.com/QPR?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Was this another bad mistake by Lumley?

> If Lumley doesn’t get dropped for next week, must be because Warbs doesn’t rate Kelly. Lumley made 2 easy saves after his mistake, not enough to redeem himself. I’ve stuck with him all season, but he makes a bad mistake every game atm and needs some time out of spotlight [#QPR](https://twitter.com/hashtag/QPR?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> I have been his biggest defender but will not complain either way on Wednesday, if he’s picked, I am fine with that, if dropped, fine with that also, I rate JL!

> Positioning for first was shocking…. player shouldn’t have been given time and space in the first place but after he did Lumley should have had it covered

> Only Lumley has been making mistakes all season, cost us a number of goals and almost many more through silly errors
