QPR: Elijah Dixon-Bonner agreement reached

QPR: Elijah Dixon-Bonner agreement reached -Championship News

Queens Park Rangers have agreed a deal to sign free agent Elijah Dixon-Bonner, according to Pete O’Rourke.

The Lowdown: Contract offer

Dixon-Bonner, hailed as an ‘enforcer in the midfield’ by sports journalist Josh Bunting, has been without a club since the summer after leaving Liverpool.

The 21-year-old has been on trial with QPR, with reports last week suggesting that the Hoops decided to offer the versatile player a contract.

It looks as if a move has now gathered pace, with Dixon-Bonner set to become the club’s fourth free transfer after moves for Jake Clarke-Salter, Leon Balogun and Kenneth Paal.

The Latest: Agreement reached

O’Rourke took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to provide an update on Dixon-Bonner and QPR.

He revealed that the player has ‘agreed a deal’ to join Michael Beale’s side ‘until the end of the season’.

The Verdict: More good news

The R’s made it three wins from four in the Championship on Tuesday with an impressive 1-0 win at Sheffield United and are now just three points off the top.

Chris Willock was the match-winner, and it looks as if the good news will continue off the pitch with a move for Dixon-Bonner.

Beale will know Dixon-Bonner well following the pair’s time in the Liverpool academy, and the 21-year-old can play in six different positions, so his versatility could come in handy over the next eight months as fixtures come thick and fast.
