QPR: Hoops hold Mark Robins talks

QPR: Hoops hold Mark Robins talks -QPR News

Queens Park Rangers have identified Mark Robins as a potential target to replace Michael Beale and have already held talks with his representatives, according to TEAMtalk.

The Lowdown: Robins profiled

Robins is currently in charge of fellow Championship side Coventry City, where he has been since 2017. The 52-year-old likes to play a 3-4-2-1 formation and has plenty of second-tier experience, managing 260 Championship games.

He actually has a terrible record against QPR, though, losing eight of his 11 games against the Hoops throughout his managerial career.

The Latest: Talks held

TEAMtalk shared a story regarding QPR and Robins on Monday lunchtime, claiming that he is on the radar at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The report even adds that the R’s ‘have held talks with Robins’ people’, with the west London club needing to pay compensation to Coventry, should they take him from the Sky Blues.

The Verdict: Solid

As mentioned, Robins has plenty of Football League experience, although he has never managed to take a team into the Premier League.

He has averaged 1.49 points per game during his second spell in charge of Coventry, with his side currently just two points behind QPR in the Championship.

You could say that QPR and Les Ferdinand would know what they are getting with Robins, potentially making this move a solid prospective appointment and one to keep an eye on over the coming days.
