# Queens Park Rangers: Toni Leistner could be tempted to leave, says agent

**QPR defender Toni Leistner could think about departing the club if an ‘interesting challenge’ is offered to him before the end of the transfer window, according to [Sport1](https://www.sport1.de/internationaler-fussball/premier-league/2019/08/queens-park-rangers-kehrt-toni-leistner-nach-deutschland-zurueck).**

Leistner has only made two substitute [appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-leistner/leistungsdaten/spieler/86916) so far this season and seems to be out of favour under Mark Warburton.

Leistner’s agent has recently revealed that offers have been made for the 29-year-old German, and while he has no wish to leave QPR, he could be tempted should one be made in the coming days given his current situation at the club.

With European clubs still able to sign players until 2nd September, there is still a chance that Leistner could depart in the coming days, and agent Branko Panic has hinted that the Bundesliga could be a potential destination.

He [said](https://www.sport1.de/internationaler-fussball/premier-league/2019/08/queens-park-rangers-kehrt-toni-leistner-nach-deutschland-zurueck): “The situation at QPR is not ideal at the moment, Toni does not want to flee, but if he wants to make an interesting challenge, he will probably think about it. Of course, the Bundesliga, which he continues to follow closely, would be one of the first options.”

Leistner joined QPR last summer and was an instant regular in the team, making [43 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-leistner/leistungsdaten/spieler/86916/plus/0?saison=2018) in the Championship last season, so his lack of game time in the current campaign may be something of a surprise.

That said, the club did [recruit](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/queens-park-rangers/transfers/verein/1039) three centre-backs of their own during the summer, with new signing [Yoann Barbet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yoann-barbet/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/159838/wettbewerb/GB2/saison/2019) appearing in every Championship game so far alongside [Grant Hall](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/grant-hall/leistungsdaten/spieler/124845) in the Hoops defence.

With the likes of Dominic Ball and Conor Masterson among those at Warburton’s disposal, there could be an argument to suggest that the squad has enough [backup](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/queens-park-rangers/kadernachposition/verein/1039) to deal with a Leistner exit, with the versatile Geoff Cameron also available as a defensive option.

And for last season’s [club captain](https://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/queens-park-rangers/qpr-preston-leistner-review-captaincy-honoured-1-5639130) to be cast aside – even in [pre-season](https://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/queens-park-rangers/qpr-manager-mark-warburton-why-toni-leistner-not-started-pre-season-1-6188858) – there are signs that the end of Leistner’s Hoops career could be near.
