# Race heating up for Everton forward as AC Milan line up end-of-season bid

**Everton fans could have been forgiven for forgetting about Gerard Deulofeu before the events of the past couple of days, in which time interest in the Spaniard has increased significantly.**

Indeed, Barcelona director Robert Fernandez told [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/deulofeu-podria-ser-gran-sorpresa-verano-barcelona-5913233) that his club are looking at re-signing the 23-year-old this summer with a €12m (£11.4m) buy-back clause in place from the summer 2015 deal between the sides for the attacker, and now [calciomercato.com](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/deulofeu-il-milan-e-convinto-c-e-una-strategia-perche-il-barca-f-17778) have revealed that AC Milan are keen to keep him beyond this season.

Deulofeu is currently on loan at the San Siro and has impressed to such a degree that he’s even earned a recall to the Spain squad for their clashes with Israel and France.

Milan are believed to see Deulofeu as the sort of player they want to keep long-term given his age and the potential he has.
