# Rangers: Fans discuss Jamie Murphy after forward scores brace for Burton Albion

**Rangers fans were left discussing Jamie Murphy after the forward scored a brace in Burton Albion’s 2-2 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.**

The Scotsman made a [temporary move](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/jamie-murphy-joins-burton-loan-rangers) to the League One side in the January transfer window after featuring in just two Scottish Premiership games in the first half of the campaign [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jamie-murphy/leistungsdaten/spieler/51730). His lack of appearances was due to fact he suffered an [anterior cruciate ligament injury](https://talksport.com/football/413924/rangers-jamie-murphy-injured/) at the beginning of the 2018/2019 season.

One fan called him a ‘great player’.

> Well done Jamie, great player you have on loan there. But we want him back 😉👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

However, he seems to have settled in well at Pirelli Stadium and has scored five goals and contributed a further two assists in just nine league games in the third-tier of English football [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jamie-murphy/leistungsdaten/spieler/51730/plus/0?saison=2019). This is in stark contrast to players like Sheyi Ojo and Brandon Barker, who have struggled this year. [The on-loan Liverpool man](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/leistungsdaten/spieler/236510) has scored the same amount of goals as the experienced Murphy despite having played over 35 games, meanwhile, [the former Manchester City player](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdaten/spieler/214927) has scored just once. Supporters were adamant the player should return to Ibrox as they discussed him. Here are some tweets:

> Jamie Murphy has now scored more goals for burton than he has for rangers and it’s only took him 8 games to score 5 goals he’s scored 4 in 20 for rangers [pic.twitter.com/LsR8JshvUw](https://t.co/LsR8JshvUw)

> Read your tweets after the last 4/5 games your entitled to your opinion abt Murphy hindsight is a wonderful thing . Ad rather have a fit Jamie Murphy than ojo or barker but that’s my opinion try and be positive
