# Rangers: Fans make their wishes known to James Tavernier after seeing festive post

**Rangers captain James Tavernier took to social media on Christmas Day to extend festive greetings to his followers.**

Tavernier and his Rangers team-mates were swiftly back into action on Boxing Day as Steven Gerrard’s team welcomed Kilmarnock to Ibrox.

On Sunday December 29th, their [final fixture of 2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/spielplandatum/verein/124) is a crucial top of the table Premiership clash away to Glasgow rivals and [current league leaders](https://www.skysports.com/scottish-premier-table) Celtic, whom the ‘Gers defeated in a festive fixture at Ibrox 12 months ago for their first derby triumph in 13 attempts (as per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/rangers-vs-celtic/391263)).

Tavernier has been a core presence in Gerrard’s squad this season, being their second-most used player  in the 2019/20 campaign to date (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/leistungsdaten/verein/124)).

These Rangers fans on Twitter returned festive wishes to the club captain and hope that the final few days of 2019 will be even merrier than their Christmas Day:
