# Rangers fans on Twitter would give anything to see Steven Davis back at Ibrox

**Rangers fans on Twitter have been calling for Steven Davis to quit Southampton and return to Glasgow, six years after he made the move from Ibrox to St Mary’s. According to reliable Rangers Twitter account, Four Lads Had a Dream, it’s unlikely but as we all know, in football anything’s possible.**

> Umar Sadiq & Lassane Coulibaly loan moves to Rangers are described as ‘done’.
>
> Both hopefully will be registered in time for Europe with Wednesday midnight deadline
>
> Club completely denying Steven Davis rumours, but we’ve been here before this summer….

The Gers would all love to see their former layer make a return, as they did when Allan McGregor was announced earlier this summer. However, Davis would be a bigger signing than McGregor given his ability to add goals from midfield and drag a team forward. Today Steven Gerrard has managed to get the signings of both Umar Sadiq and Lassane Coulibaly over the line and it wouldn’t be unheard of for Davis to join them.

The upcoming season will be a big one for the Bluenoses. They have a long way to go to catch up with Celtic and although Gerrard has made a number of signings to improve the first-team, it still remains to be seen whether the club will be able to stand up and challenge their Old Firm rivals in three domestic competitions. For now, winning any silverware will be appreciated by the fans who haven’t been used to challenging against the Hoops for a while now.

Here’s what the Gers have been saying on Twitter:

> I do think we need a right sided offensive CM but I’m not sure about Davis, yes the Steven Davis from 2008 but not the injury prone 33 year old now. We SERIOUSLY need to start offloading and soon!

> Haven’t seen enough of Davis lately to get excited about him potentially coming back tbh.\
> He will be 34 in January, I think I’d rather see, Rossiter, McCrorie, and Docherty pushed on and given game time tbh.

> Cardoso, Herrera, Halliday, Dorrans, Foderingham n Forrester need gone

From the Rangers fans tweets, it’s clear to see that they all really want to sign Steven Davis this summer.
