# Rangers: Fans over the moon after club release statement

**Rangers fans were over the moon after the club released a statement clarifying their position about the impact of recent events on the Scottish Premiership.**

The [club](https://www.facebook.com/notes/rangers-fc/rangers-position-impact-of-coronavirus-on-scottish-football/3117649434920457/) reiterated that the league season is only complete when all 38 fixtures have been played. They went on to claim that declaring the outcome of the division before games are done impacts the [integrity of sport in Scotland](https://www.facebook.com/notes/rangers-fc/rangers-position-impact-of-coronavirus-on-scottish-football/3117649434920457/). It’s a strong statement from the Glasgow outfit, who still have [two fixtures to play against Celtic](https://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2019/12/29/scotland/premier-league/celtic-fc/rangers-fc/3038481/head2head/) and [a game in hand](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premiership/table) over their fierce rivals.

One fan called the statement ‘perfectly worded’.

However, there has been growing calls from Celtic Park figures to hand their side the title should the campaign be cancelled completely. [Scott Brown](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/scott-brown-celtic-spl-title-coronavirus-a4386226.html) and [Neil Lennon](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51875701) have both claimed that they deserve the title if the season isn’t finished, however, former Ibrox favourite [Alex Rae](https://twitter.com/alexrae1969/status/1238758966970195968) has moved to refute such talk. Supporters loved the statement from the club as they took to Twitter to react. Here are some tweets:

> Any attempt to finish the season with a significant amount of games still to play, impacts upon the integrity of sport in Scotland.
