# Rangers: Fans react to Alfredo Morelos’ Colombia call-up

**Alfredo Morelos has been called up to the Colombia squad for their upcoming fixtures.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”250479″\]

The Rangers striker was named in Carlos Queiroz’s squad following a brilliant start to the season which has seen him [score 13 goals and provide four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.com/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdaten/spieler/338962) in 17 appearances.

It marks a recall to the international scene for the 23-year-old, who was [left out](https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/rangers-alfredo-morelos-misses-out-on-colombia-copa-america-squad/) for the Copa America last summer.

Indeed, he will hope that he can add to his three caps and get his first international goal as Colombia play two friendlies against Chile and Algeria respectively.

This is a major opportunity for him to make an impact after legendary striker [Radamel Falcao was left out](https://www.uniindia.com/~/colombia-leave-out-james-falcao-for-friendlies/Sports/news/1747130.html) of the 24-man party. There is a void in the starting 11 to be filled with the former Manchester United and Chelsea man coming to the end of his career and Morelos knows that this is his chance to shine.

Speaking following his call-up, [the striker said](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4788038/rangers-alfredo-morelos-falcao-colombia/): “With Falcao not being in the squad on this occasion, of course I view this as a great opportunity for me. It’s a chance to get more experience with my national team and I want to do my absolute best.

“It’s been a good start to the season for me. I have scored a number of important goals for Rangers already. I’ve just tried to keep doing things my way and the reward for me has been a call-up to the national team, which makes me very proud indeed.”

Naturally, Rangers fans were delighted for the man they call ‘El Buffalo’ and they were quick to congratulate him on Twitter. Here is what some of them said…
