Steven Gerrard was full of praise for the defender in his press conference on Friday and revealed he felt he was outstanding and is highly respected by everyone at Ibrox (via [Twitter](https://twitter.com/RangersFC/status/1174974378129285122)). Indeed, his match statistics would also appear to suggest the 26-year-old was influential on the pitch and played a big role in ensuring Rangers started their Europa League group stage in positive fashion. According to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1427259/LiveStatistics/Europe-UEFA-Europa-League-2019-2020-Rangers-Feyenoord), Barisic managed to contribute with three key passes and one completed dribble, as he provided Sheyi Ojo with assist for the only goal of the game.
