One moment from Borna Barisic was described as 'really poor' by journalist Joshua Barrie in Glasgow Rangers' Viaplay Cup semi-final clash on Sunday.

The Lowdown: Rangers reach Viaplay Cup final

Michael Beale's side faced an important game at Hampden Park, knowing that their Glasgow arch-rivals had already booked a place in the final.

Rangers fell behind in the first half to a Bojan Miovski strike for Aberdeen, but fortunately Ryan Jack was on hand to equalise in the second half, easing the tension.

Extra time was required to separate the teams, and Kemar Roofe struck in the 94th minute to complete the turnaround from the Light Blues with what was ultimately the winning goal.

The Latest: 'Really poor' Barisic slammed

Taking to Twitter during the game, Barrie criticised Barisic's involvement in Miovski's opening goal.

The Rangers Review journalist wrote:

"Barisic stops running completely after Davies had played Miovski offside and Kennedy can cross for the forward to score. Really poor from the left-back."

The Verdict: Not good enough from Barisic

This wasn't a vintage performance by Rangers but a mouth-watering final against Celtic on 26 February now awaits them, something for which Beale and players deserve credit.

Barisic's sloppy defending for the Aberdeen goal summed up aspects of his and the team's display - Sky Sports' live commentary also pointed out how he switched off just before Miovski struck. The left-back was also booked towards the end of normal time, along with scuffing two late shots into the ground prior to his substitution at half-time in extra time.

At 30, the Croatian arguably isn't quite the player he was in previous years at Ibrox, despite still registering seven assists in the Premiership this season, and Beale will be hoping for better from his left-back in forthcoming fixtures.
