Some younger football fans may be unaware that Gennaro Gattuso, who is now managing Napoli, played for Glasgow Rangers before he made his name at AC Milan.
In 1997, he made the move to Ibrox on a free transfer from Perugia and would end up staying with the Gers for more than a year. He ended up leaving for Salernitana, who paid £4.18m to take him back to Italy. He departed Rangers without a single piece of silverware, but he more than made it up for it at the San Siro – by the time he retired, he had won a whole host of trophies, including two Serie A titles and two Champions Leagues.
Would you like Gattuso to replace Gerrard?
Despite his lack of success in Scotland, he is still remembered fondly by many ‘Gers supporters. That much is clear in the responses to a video shared by the club’s official Twitter account. The clip shows Gattuso scoring against Hearts, giving these fans the opportunity to laud the former World Cup winner.
Let’s see what the fans said about Gattuso below

Wish he had been around longer. Hope he returns someday.

Proper blood and thunder player!
I’d have no issue with him taking over at Gers one day if Gerrard left.
