Glasgow Rangers stated on their official website and Twitter channel this morning that fans will be able to watch exclusive live coverage of tomorrow’s Europa League qualifier on Rangers TV, but the announcement has met with disdain from many supporters.
According to @RangersFC, the club’s in-house TV channel is ‘the only place’ to watch live coverage of the match against Willem II, with fans able to purchase a pass for the game for £9.99.

With football currently being played behind closed doors, ‘Gers fans are left dependent on the club’s coverage to see matches which aren’t televised by other broadcasters. However, virtual match passes for season ticket holders only cover home fixtures, while non-season ticket holders need to fork out £9.99 per game for viewing privileges (as per rangers.co.uk). This is after many supporters had already paid for season tickets despite being unable to attend matches for the foreseeable future.
Coverage of ‘Gers matches has been a sore point at times in recent weeks. In July, many supporters fumed over the club charging £12 to watch the pre-season friendly against Marseille on Rangers TV. Lat week, Premier Sports came under fire from a lot of ‘Gers fans over their coverage of the Europa League win over Lincoln Red Imps, when the picture dropped momentarily and missed a goal from Jermain Defoe.
Will you be paying to watch the Rangers match against Willem II?
These supporters on Twitter are now raging about the pay-per-view arrangements for tomorrow’s match, with one fan calling the club “shameless” over the latest charge for the Ibrox faithful to see their team in action:
Rangers truly are shameless, fork out for season ticket plus the new my gers £40 the week we find out we pretty much wont see any games this season they then slap us with another charge to see the games on tele. Utterly shambolic we are customers to this board not fans. https://t.co/mhgnmhXgMR

Can’t wait to be charged £130 for a 3 match package if we get to the group stages https://t.co/aAwVI2XFlh

Horrendous you are asking season ticket holders to give you another tenner. Goodwill has now dried up.

Really poor these games are not for season ticket holders. We pay £500 for a season ticket but cannot actually get to the stadium so far least u could do is let us watch this game. Poor rangers

Absolutely shocking season ticket holders are having to pay for this paying 500 pounds already for a season ticket to watch on the tv and now @RangersFC are asking for more money

Very unlikely to be at ibrox this season which everybody knew was possible when they bought a season but then charging season ticket holders every qualifier is a bit of a kick in the teeth surely ?? https://t.co/KFIdO3BzYV
