Glasgow Rangers: Fans loved club’s humorous response to Willem II supporter

It wasn’t just Glasgow Rangers’ players who were making their fans happy last night as they thumped Willem II 4-0 – the club’s social media team also delighted many of the Ibrox faithful with one post-match tweet.
‘Gers fans woke up to the news yesterday morning that ultras from the Dutch club congregated outside the hotel where Steven Gerrard and his squad were staying and let off fireworks overnight for a reported duration of 45 minutes. [via Daily Record]
A Willem II supporter on Twitter tagged the Light Blues’ official account in a tweet which asked “How was your night”, which prompted a humorous response from the Ibrox club’s admins. Following the 4-0 win, @Rangers FC posted a reply to @TillyTilburg showing a five-second clip from Still Game with the quote “Quiet the night, boys. I like it quiet.”

The club’s Twitter activity has come in for criticism from some fans on occasion in the past, but these Ibrox supporters lapped up the “outstanding” quip after last night’s comprehensive victory in the Netherlands, with one calling for the admin responsible to be given a pay rise:

The person behind this tweet deserves to have the training ground renamed after them.
