Glasgow Rangers: Fans upset by Leon Balogun injury update

Glasgow Rangers’ new signing Leon Balogun could hardly have hoped for a better start to life at Ibrox.
The 32-year-old was brought in following the loss of Nikola Katic, who picked up a damaging injury in training, and was expected to provide cover for the likes of Connor Goldson and Filip Helander. However, he started the first three matches of the Premiership season and helped the ‘Gers to pick up three wins and three clean sheets along the way.
Unfortunately, though, he came off injured at half-time in the Light Blues’ most recent clash against St. Johnstone, and Steven Gerrard has now confirmed that the Nigeria international will play no part in the match tomorrow as the 54-time Scottish champions travel to Livingston.
Who would you rather start alongside Connor Goldson?
Leon Balogun

Filip Helander

This has attracted the attention of many ‘Gers supporters and it seems that they are far from happy with this news – given how he has settled in to the back four, they appear to believe that it could have a negative effect on their team this weekend.
They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan called the update “worrying” – and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:

That’s a blow as goldson and Hellander always struggle on that pitch

That’s a shame as he’s probably the best equipped to deal with the physical threat that Dykes will no doubt pose.
