Glasgow Rangers kicked off their Europa League campaign in positive fashion on Thursday as they faced Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps.
The Gers were away from home against a side who beat Celtic in the Champions League not so long ago, but they were no match for the 54-time Scottish champions. Despite playing away from home, Steven Gerrard’s men won 5-0, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos – twice – all scoring to put their opponents to the sword.
However, it wasn’t all good news. The Gers picked up no less than four injuries last weekend against Dundee United, and they had to deal with another one here, as new £4.5m signing Kemar Roofe was taken off in the first half.
Was the signing of Roofe worth the risk?
Given how they have had issues with injury problems recently, the Gers fans were far from happy with this latest blow. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Brb. Off for a little cry.
