Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the sale of Greg Docherty, who has joined Hull City.
The midfielder had been linked with a move to the English League One side, and the transfer has now been completed. The 23-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Tigers, with the option for another year. The fee is reportedly said to be in the region of £400,000.
After signing for £671,000 in 2018, Docherty never really got a chance at Ibrox, managing just 19 appearances. However, those games did bring six assists, and he had successful loan spells with Shrewsbury and Hibernian, where he scored 13 times and provided 16 assists in a combined 58 matches.
Are you angry with the sale of Greg Docherty?
It is the level of his displays whilst with other sides that appears to have frustrated the Gers supporters – the general feeling seems to be that this is a bad choice, with one fan even calling it a “ridiculous decision”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Another ridiculous decision.

It’s not often I have disagreed with Steven Gerrard, however, for me, he has got this wildly wrong! Bad move @RangersFC

I don’t know why folk think he wasn’t good enough – he never got a chance when the likes of Ojo had many. The fee is an insult to Docherty’s ability – we paid £210,000 for Ian Redford 40 years ago for goodness sake!

Still reckon he could have done a shift for us, I also think he’s a better shout than kamara, stronger, more of a hard worker and over game time would be a better option in the middle of the park but that’s just me.

Well Rangers you’ve completely ruined my afternoon. Hope you spend the transfer fee on some lessons in grace and decorum. And maybe buy a player
