During the 1990s, Glasgow Rangers were by Scotland’s most successful team.
The likes of Brian Laudrup, Pail Gascoigne and Ally McCoist became ‘Gers legends as they helped the Ibrox outfit win nine Premiership titles in a row, which is a joint-record for the league. Each of them, thanks to their performances, wrote themselves into the history of the club.
Mark Walters was another player who helped the 54-time Scottish champions on their way to that record. He played for the club between 1987 and 1991 after signing from Aston Villa for £550,000, helping the ‘Gers to win three league titles during that time before making the switch to Liverpool.
Is Mark Walters a Rangers legend?
As part of the club’s Goal of the Day series, the Light Blues’ official Twitter account took the opportunity to share a goal from Walters, and it enabled supporters to reminisce about the winger. Some fans took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments below.
