Glasgow Rangers have made an impressive start to the season in the Premiership.
Steven Gerrard’s side started with a 1-0 win away at Aberdeen on the opening matchday, and they have now followed that up with an even more impressive victory against St. Mirren in their first match at Ibrox this term. In the end, it was 3-0, with Alfredo Morelos bagging a brace after an own goal had set the Gers on their way.
It was a dominating display from the 54-time Scottish champions, and it could have been an awful lot more had it not been for Jak Alnwick. The 27-year-old moved to St. Mirren from the Gers this summer after leaving Ibrox on a free transfer, and he impressed between the sticks – Gerrard’s men only scored from three of their 28 shots, 12 of which were on target.
Should Rangers have kept Alnwick?
The Gers supporters were quick to praise his display, and they took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one suggesting he put in a ‘MOTM’ (Man of the Match) performance. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Jak Alnwick best player on the pitch IMO

Hope Ross Wilson is keeping tabs on the Alnwick lad. MOTM performance today.

Hagi didn’t have his best game today but I thought he was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Alnwick had a blinder that 1st half

I think he will push McGregor which is great for us. Also Alnwick proved he’s better than foderingham which I’ve always thought

Alnwick is sending Gerrard no regards with this performance
