Glasgow Rangers: Fans unhappy with Murphy sale - Rangers News

Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the departure of Jamie Murphy to Hibernian.

Murphy signed for the Ibrox outfit in 2018 for a fee of £1.08m after he scored five and created a further 10 in 19 matches during a six-month loan spell. However, his permanent career with the Gers was effectively ended before it even started, with him rupturing his cruciate ligament away at Kilmarnock at the start of the 2018/19 term – he would miss 52 games and played just 10 more times for the club.

Who scored more goals for the Gers?

Now, he has moved to Hibs, with him joining first on a year’s loan before he makes the deal permanent next season on a free transfer. The news was confirmed by the club before the Gers’ match against Hamilton on Saturday.

Are you said to see Jamie Murphy go?

The announcement has attracted the attention of the Gers supporters, and it seems they are far from happy – they believe Murphy deserved more of a chance after returning from injury perhaps given his impressive numbers prior to it. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
