Glasgow Rangers may not have achieved their domestic goals last season but they certainly did well in Europe.
The ‘Gers were competing in the Europa League, and they made it to the round of 16 before being knocked out by Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. They beat the likes of Feyenoord, Porto and Braga as they made their way through the competition, and it is the best performance of any Scottish side on the continent since Celtic reached the Champions League round of 16 during the 2012/13 campaign.
The ‘Gers were Scotland’s best-performing team in European competition last term, and it has now been revealed by UEFA Calculator, which crunches the numbers behind the UEFA coefficients, that the country had the seventh-best results of all 55 member association in the 2019/20 European club season.
