Steven Gerrard showed his frustration at the lack of transfer business done by Glasgow Rangers recently following their 4-0 win against Dundee United this weekend.
The ‘Gers have already been busy in the window so far this summer, signing Jon McLaughlin, Calvin Bassey, Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten, Ianis Hagi and Leon Balogun. However, Gerrard has called for another midfielder, and another striker may be needed if Alfredo Morelos departs in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Gerrard said:
“Look I can’t be any more clear with Ross (Wilson) and the Board in terms of what we need.
“They know that, I don’t think I have to go public and say that.
“But yes, we certainly do (need additions).”
There is still plenty of time left during this transfer window to get some more business done, but we are already seven games into the new Premiership season and Gerrard will have been hoping to have his squad ready by this point for what promises to be an important campaign as they seek to stop Celtic’s bid for a 10th successive league title.
How many more signings do Rangers need?
The frustration here is clear for all to see. Now, he can only hope that Ross Wilson and the rest of the Ibrox board are working hard behind the scenes to make sure that he is satisfied come the transfer deadline on 5 October.
