Glasgow Rangers have received a triple injury boost as Steven Gerrard has confirmed that both Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe will return to full training this week, whilst Allan McGregor could be in line to appear on Wednesday against St. Johnstone.
Roofe, who recently signed from Anderlecht, as well as Defoe and McGregor, have appeared just twice between them for the Gers this campaign, but in the Scottish Premiership at least, it does not appear to have affected them – they currently sit second in the table, having won both of their first two matches, and have not yet conceded.
Will Rangers win the league this season?
In the long run, though, Gerrard will want a full group of players to choose from, and as such, it is a boost to the former Liverpool man that all three players look as though they will be once again available in the near future. McGregor was the Ibrox outfit’s undoubted number one last term, whilst Roofe and Defoe will be relied upon to provide danger up front as the 54-time Scottish champions look for their first piece of major silverware since 2011.
This is just the latest bit of good news for the Gers in what has been a promising start to the campaign.
