Steven Gerrard has said that Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has trained well all week, but that he is yet to decide whether he will be included for the match against Hamilton this weekend.
Morelos has been the subject of intense interest this summer, primarily from Lille, with him reportedly agreeing personal terms with Les Dogues. That didn’t stop Gerrard from starting him in the first four Premiership games of the season, but he was left out of the squad altogether against Kilmarnock.
“Alfredo (Morelos) has trained well this week, I’ll make a decision on my squad later today.
“I analyse all the players on a daily basis and I pick based on the players I think will get the right result.”
Morelos has come in for plenty of criticism recently. Gerrard himself said it was easy to drop him from the previous squad, whilst others, such as Kris Boyd, have slammed his behaviour. His future at the club really does look uncertain.
Will Morelos still be at Rangers by the end of the transfer window?
With Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten now available, Gerrard does not need to rely on him as much. Unless he is fully committed to the cause with the 54-time Scottish champions, which does not appear to be the case, he should be nowhere near the side.
