According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard is set to speak to Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to tell him that he will only leave the club if their valuation is met, and that he will only be re-introduced to the fold at Ibrox if he knuckles down in training.
Morelos was left out of the 54-time Scottish champions’ match against Kilmarnock last weekend after he demanded to leave the club in the current transfer window. This comes amid intense interest from Lille, with whom the Colombia international is said to have agreed personal terms.
At the moment, though, the 24-year-old still a ‘Gers player, and it seems clear that the Glasgow side will only let him leave if they receive the fee that they are seking. As such, Gerrard will make it clear to Morelos that he is still on the club’s books and, as a result, he should show respect and apply himself just like every other player at Ibrox.
Will Morelos still be at Rangers by the end of the transfer window?
Gerrard is perhaps starting to grow tired of this situation and will likely want a quick solution. That would be best for all involved at this point rather than letting any animosity fester and potentially explode.
‘Gers fans, should the club just let Morelos leave ASAP? Let us know what you think by commenting below!
