Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Glasgow Rangers are looking for more signings before the end of the transfer window – but he will only sign players if they fit what he wants.
The Gers have already been busy this summer, bringing in Calvin Bassey, Jon McLaughlin, Ianis Hagi, Leon Balogun, Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe for a total sum of £10.35m, but Gerrard has said that he is looking to bring in another midfielder. The Gers now have just a few weeks to complete any business the deadline comes around on October 5th.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s match against Hibernian, Gerrard has confirmed that he wants to bring in new faces. He said:
“Everyone knows we are always looking for signings but I won’t just jump in and take anyone.
“It has to be the right person to strengthen our squad.”
That midfield addition is one the Gers are clearly eyeing. They have been linked with Daniel Johnson, Bongani Zungu and John Lundstram in recent weeks, and they will be hoping that one of them can make the move to Ibrox soon.
How many more signings do Rangers need?
They may also be looking to bring a new striker in if Alfredo Morelos does move away from the club. As such, expect the 54-time Scottish champions to remain busy between now and the end of the window.
