Glasgow Rangers will begin their 2020/21 Europa League campaign against Lincoln Red Imps on Thursday.
They will travel to Gibraltar to face the Imps, and will be hoping for an easy passage to the next round. However, they must be wary of their opponents’ threat – they beat Celtic in the Champions League not too long ago.
Steven Gerrard has some big decisions to make in terms of team selection. Here, we try to predict his starting XI including seven changes from the weekend win against Dundee United.
Despite keeping six clean sheets in the first six matches of the Premiership season, Jon McLaughlin could drop back to the bench here to allow Allan McGregor to pick up some match fitness.
In defence, there could also be some changes. Borna Barisic may be given a rest, which would allow Calvin Bassey to make his first professional start for the club. George Edmundson could also be given an opportunity alongside regulars Connor Goldson and James Tavernier.
With Ryan Jack picking up an injury against Dundee United, he could be replaced by Scott Arfield, with Glen Kamara potentially alongside him in midfield. In a three behind the striker, Ryan Kent should keep his place, along with Ianis Hagi, whilst Greg Stewart could feature on the right wing.
