Glasgow Rangers have had a strong start to the new Premiership season.
The ‘Gers have won their first two matches, prevailing against Aberdeen and St. Mirren by scorelines of 1-0 and 3-0 respectively, and Steven Gerrard’s side now sit second in the table behind Hibernian on goal difference. The Ibrox outfit have even managed to open up a two-point lead over Glasgow rivals Celtic.
However, even though the campaign has only just started, it could already be in jeopardy. Several Aberdeen players, as well as Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli, have breached lockdown and quarantine measures put in place for the current pandemic, and that has led to Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon threatening to pause the season.
Do you think the Premiership season will be paused?
This has obviously attracted plenty of attention from ‘Gers supporters and it is quite clear that many of them are far from happy with the news – one fan even called it a “total farce”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
This will somehow be Rangers’ fault. https://t.co/y1iISz7KOB

Don’t see why the whole league should be made to pay just because 2 clubs can’t control their own players. Suspend the 2 clubs involved and let the others get on with it. https://t.co/0iic7bq72p

Why should Scottish football as a whole be punished because of the actions of Celtc & Aberdeen players? Is it easier to simply close the league down than to actually punish the players and clubs involved? https://t.co/f1v7vrIqvF

Surely if the season is called we win the title Chris??? That’s the logic they used last time… disgusting if they don’t and I’ll be taking them to court if that’s the case pic.twitter.com/52feVRjkpg

Punish Aberdeen and Celtic, not the rest of Scottish football
