Glasgow Rangers have made a positive start to the Premiership season so far.
The Gers have won both of their first two matches, beating Aberdeen and St. Mirren 1-0 and 3-0 respectively. Now, they face St. Johnstone on Wednesday as they look to continue their promising form.
With the games coming thick and fast, Steven Gerrard will want to keep his squad fresh. Here, we try to predict his starting XI.
Jon McLaughlin did well against St. Mirren as he helped the Gers keep a clean sheet, but Allan McGregor is Gerrard’s number one between the sticks and, after recovering from a knock, should start in midweek.
The back four should remain unchanged, with Borna Barisic, Leon Balogun, Connor Goldson and James Tavernier making up the back line. After two clean sheets in their first two league matches, they will be hoping to continue their sturdy start.
There could be another change in the middle of the park. As mentioned before, Gerrard must keep his squad fresh and, as such, Scott Arfield could replace Glen Kamara alongside Ryan Jack.
Ianis Hagi has struggled so far in the league, even having coming under criticism from the Gers supporters and, as such, he could be replaced by Brandon Barker. That would see Aribo move into a more central attacking midfield to be flanked on the wings by Barker and Ryan Kent.
Will Rangers beat St. Johnstone on Wednesday?
Up front, Alfredo Morelos should start. He has been linked with a move away from the Gers, but his two goals against St. Mirren show he is still focused on his current job.
