Glasgow Rangers have been handed a Team News boost before they play in the UEFA Champions League tonight involving Rabbi Matondo and Leon King.

The Lowdown: Europa League possibility

While Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team cannot make the knockout stages of the Champions League, they could still qualify for the Europa League.

They are currently three points behind Ajax in third, and with two matchdays to go, it is still all to play for in terms of who will finish in third spot in their group, and thus drop down to the Europa League.

The Latest: Matondo and King update

Speaking to the media in his pre-game press conference ahead of their match away at Napoli, Van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Matondo is 'fit' after picking up a 'small injury' over the weekend, and has 'travelled' with the squad:

"Matondo is fit after a small injury at weekend and has travelled with us."

The Dutch manager also shared that King is feeling 'better' after falling ill at half-time in their 1-1 draw at home to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership last weekend, where he had to come off:

"Leon King is better, he was feeling sick on Saturday at half-time and had to come off."

The Verdict: Double boost

To have Matondo return to the squad, as well as King being declared okay to play, is certainly a boost for Gers ahead of a tough away trip.

They are experiencing an injury crisis in the centre of defence at the moment, with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and John Souttar all out long-term, so King is vital in terms of getting fit centre-backs out on the pitch.

As for Matondo, his Light Blues career has not got off to the best of starts, having not scored in his opening Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, both players could well be involved tonight, as the Teddy Bears look to chase an unlikely result in Naples.
