Journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Nicolas Raskin will sign a contract at Glasgow Rangers until 2027 after a deal was agreed to bring him to Ibrox.

The Lowdown: Deal agreed

It was reported earlier this morning that, after three offers from Rangers were rejected for the 21-year-old, the Premiership giants have finally reached an agreement with Standard Liege to sign him.

The Gers will pay €2m (£1.7m) and give the Belgian club a 20% resale value, with the deal set to be finalised imminently.

The Latest: Contract until 2027

Taking to Twitter, Romano has added some more details with regards to Raskin's move to Rangers, saying that the paperwork is set to be signed 'today' and his contract will run until 2027.

The Italian tweeted: "Rangers have reached full agreement to sign Nicolas Raskin, here we go! Deal in place with Standard Liege on permanent move.

"Paperwork between clubs today, while personal terms are already agreed. Been told contract will be valid until 2027."

The Verdict: Good deal for Rangers

The fact that Michael Beale's side have agreed on a contract until 2027 protects Raskin's value and means that they will be able to have him at Ibrox as he enters his prime.

Lauded as a ‘monstrous’ player by his manager Ronny Deila, who used to manage Rangers' bitter rivals Celtic, the midfielder has played nearly 100 games in the Belgian top flight by the age of 21, scoring five times and supplying a further 13 assists (Transfermarkt).

Beale has also publicly admitted that he is a fan of Raskin, calling him a "very good" player after watching him in action against the Light Blues for Standard Liege in Europe last season.

The Teddy Bears seem to have wrapped up a good deal here for a player who could nicely complement new signing Todd Catwell in the middle of the park at Ibrox.
