The Rangers Review journalist Joshua Barrie praised Fashion Sakala for his role in Antonio Colak's second goal for Glasgow Rangers at home to St Mirren in today's Premiership clash.

The Lowdown: Comfortable win

It was a comfortable win in the end for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team at Ibrox, with Antonio Colak grabbing a brace, which takes his tally for the Gers to 13 in all competitions.

The new striker may be grabbing all of the headlines at the moment, but he has Sakala to thank for his second goal in particular.

The Latest: Sakala praised

Taking to Twitter after Colak's second goal, Barrie was left to praise the role of Sakala, who made an 'excellent' run inside from the right flank.

The journalist tweeted: "Colak again, what a finish. Played in by Sakala who makes it, cuts back inside and finishes with the outside of his boot. Sakala's run inside is excellent though. The benefit of playing with pace on the right."

The Verdict: Made a difference

Sakala was gifted his first start of the Premiership season by Van Bronckhorst, and he made a big difference on the right wing.

Aside from his assist for Colak and his goal in injury time, the Zambia international won nine of his individual duels, the joint-most in the Light Blues squad (SofaScore), which emphasised how willing he was to utilise his pace and take on his opponents.

Sakala completed all seven of his dribble attempts, the most of any player on the pitch by some distance, while he also played one key pass and one accurate long ball (SofaScore).

The 25-year-old should look forward to plenty more starts with performances like these.
