A number of Rangers supporters are fuming after Steven Gerrard confirmed Filip Helander will miss his side's Europa League clash with Lyon.

The Gers were knocked out of the Champions League by Malmo last month, meaning their attention now turns to Europa League action on Thursday nights.

Steven Gerrard's men have an exciting clash with Ligue 1 giants Lyon to look forward to this week, with Ibrox hopefully rocking for the game.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday [via Rangers' official Twitter account], the manager confirmed that Helander would be absent for the game.

The 28-year-old has started three Scottish Premiership games this season and could be a big loss for his side on Thursday evening.
