Rangers: Gabriel Agbonlahor tips Gers for summer spending spree

In a recent interview, Gabriel Agbonlahor tipped Glasgow Rangers for a summer spending spree following the Gers’ impressive Europa League run.
Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor stated his belief that Rangers should sign three or four new players this summer, moves which could be funded by the club’s run in the Europa League – in which Steven Gerrard’s side have reached the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season.
He said: “They need to go again. Bring in three, four new players that can add quality to your team. The longer you go in the Europa League, the more money for the club and they might have promised Steven Gerrard, ‘The money we receive from the Europa League, you can have on transfers, you can have on new contracts’. You don’t know how the club is run, and I can see it happening.”

With Football Insider reporting that last season’s Europa League campaign saw the club earn £20 million, going deep in the competition is something that will certainly benefit Steven Gerrard and his side financially.
And, with the club having already secured the Scottish crown this season, if they can also progress further than their Round of 16 tie against Slavia Prague in the Europa League, it would only help to add to the club’s reputation as an attractive proposition to potential new signings, as well a providing them with further financial gains.
Indeed, with Rangers securing their first Scottish league title for 10 years, Gerrard will undoubtedly try his utmost to strengthen the club once again this summer, in an attempt to ensure that their title win can be repeated next season and beyond.
