According to Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers are hoping that youngster Kai Kennedy signs a new contract at the club.
Kennedy could commit future to Gers
Kennedy was reportedly eager to leave Ibrox as he searched for more playing time. In the end, he only moved on loan to Inverness, but it still appeared that he wanted to play his football away from the 54-time Scottish champions in the long-term.
Now, though, it seems the Gers have hopes of seeing the 18-year-old commit his future to the club.
This is no doubt good news for all involved at Rangers. Called a player with ‘huge potential’ by former Gers player Barry Ferguson, Kennedy has impressed at Inverness, scoring once and providing one assist in seven matches for his temporary club.
Will Kai Kennedy sign a new contract at Rangers?
Inverness boss John Robertson has showered him in praise as well. Targeted by Bayern Munich and Manchester City in the past, Kennedy looks to be a player with a big future ahead of him. It would be a crying shame if the Gers were to lose him, especially on a free transfer. Hopefully, the teenager will put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.
In other news, Rangers’ move for this international could be back on.
