Glasgow Rangers hero Ally McCoist has hammered Alfredo Morelos after he escaped a red card against Hibernian on Wednesday.
McCoist hammers Morelos
Colombia international Morelos scored the only goal of the game as the Gers prevailed 1-0 to remain 23 points clear at the top of the Premiership (BBC). However, he was arguably lucky to stay on the field after appearing to stamp on an opponent’s legs.
“It is so frustrating, he just doesn’t learn. He took his goal well enough but he just can’t help himself.”
Morelos displayed his best and his worst traits against Hibs. His goal earned the Gers a vital three points and propelled them one step further to their ultimate goal of lifting the title at the end of this campaign. On the other hand, the stamp was another example of his seemingly uncontrollable temper and he was lucky to stay on the pitch.
Should Morelos have been sent off against Hibs?
Despite not actually receiving his marching orders in a game this term, Morelos was given a retrospective two-game ban after elbowing Dundee United’s Mark Connolly in December, and he also slapped Scott Brown on the back of the head in the first Old Firm clash of the season (SportBible).
He remains a player that Steven Gerrard can not fully trust – with the likes of Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe waiting in the wings, Morelos is a distraction he may think he can do without.
In other news, Rangers fans are livid at this SFA decision.
