Many Glasgow Rangers fans are delighted after it was revealed that Calvin Bassey, Nathan Patterson and Bongani Zungu will all be free to play in the Scottish Cup fourth round after their ban for breaching lockdown regulations was appealed.

The aforementioned trio - along with Brian Kinnear and Dapo Mebude, who are currently away from Ibrox on loan - were found earlier this year to have broken lockdown laws to attend a small house gathering. They have since been hit with six-game bans as punishment.

However, the Gers have moved to appeal the sanctions. While there is no guarantee that the bans will be overturned, it does now mean that Zungu, Bassey and Patterson will be able to play in the Scottish Cup fourth round against Celtic as they wait for the outcome of their case (Sky Sports).

The news was shared on Twitter by @ibroxrocks, and it delighted many Gers supporters. These fans took to the social media platform to share their thoughts, with one describing it as a "masterstroke" by the club.
