Glasgow Rangers fans are livid after Steven Gerrard revealed Bongani Zungu was one of the five Gers players to have broken coronavirus rules to attend a house gathering.
The Ibrox outfit were shocked earlier this week when it was revealed that a number of their players had flaunted lockdown regulations following their 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock. It was suggested that Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey were two of the players involved, while it appeared that two other youth team players were present. However, £1.08m-valued Zungu (Transfermarkt) has now been mentioned as a culprit (Rangers TV via The Guardian).
Would you sign Zungu permanently?
On loan from Amiens, Zungu has barely played for the Gers – he has started just one Premiership game (Transfermarkt). The news of his involvement has not gone down well at all, and the fans took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Zungu below
“Zungu an utter disgrace on the park and off the park. Get rid of him now.”
“Well at least Zungu is finished, never looked that good and it’ll get rid of those SA fans who only support the player and not the club”
“Get rid of Zungu & let of the local boys from the academy gladly take his place”
“How much has the Zungu signing cost us. Awful player, clearly immature, sack him today”
“Zungu is finished.”
“Terminate Zungu loan, Mebude will leave for free this summer, Sell kinnear straight from academy, Bassey and Patterson still have a future at the club but don’t play for remainder of the season Young lads do stupid things but no excuses and as for Zungu expected better”
In other news, Gers should do all they can to keep this star.
