Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic has revealed Glasgow Rangers left-back Borna Barisic will not be available for his country's final group stage Euro 2020 clash against Scotland.

The Lowdown: Barisic struggling

Barisic was selected as part of Croatia's 26-man squad for the European Championships and had been expected to start on the left-side of the back four.

However, he was ruled out of the opening clash against England, and also did not feature against the Czech Republic at Hampden Park.

The Latest: Out of Scotland clash

Now, Dalic has provided a further update on the 28-year-old. He said (via Glasgow Live):

"Borna has not trained with us for the last 5/6 days.

"He has trained only twice recently so that hasn’t been sufficient for me to be sure he can play an entire match. He’ll be with us and he’ll be there though."

The Verdict: Crushing blow

This will no doubt be a crushing blow for all involved. Barisic, who has 15 goals and 56 assists at club level throughout his career (Transfermarkt), has proven himself to be an attacking threat - that is something Croatia could do with considering they have scored just once so far during this tournament (Sky Sports).

For Barisic, it will be even more disappointing given he plays in Scotland. It would have been a fantastic moment for him, but now he will only be there as a spectator. He will need to hope his side can get the right result on the pitch so that he can have a chance to play in the knockout stages.

In other news, Rangers have rejected several bids for this controversial ace.
